How High (2001)
Redman and Methodman attend Harvard University in this chronic classic. After discovering a new strain that turned them into super geniuses, these guys took education into their own hands. Their grow secret was using the ashes of their smart, deceased friend to fertilize the plant. A favorite scene is when Meth and Red run out of their special stash. In order to get their smarts back, they dig up John Quincy Adams and smoke his bones! Ridiculous is an understatement. This movie hits close to home to those stoners attending college. After a few semesters, you realize it’s much more bearable with some cannabis in your system. Released in 2001, this film will never get old!
Half Baked (1998)
Written by comedian Dave Chappelle, Half Baked is a classic stoner movie guaranteed to provide some laughs. Half Baked makes a perfect example of your local group of potheads that get themselves into the most obscure situations. In this movie, stoner friend Kenny (Harland Williams) feeds his munchies to a diabetic police horse, unfortunately killing it. For the remainder of the movie the rest of the crew spent their time trying to get Kenny out. Many celebrities known well by stoners like Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson make an appearance Grab a blunt or whatever smokes your fancy and hop onto Netflix – it won’t disappoint.
Super Troopers 1 & 2 (2001, 2018)
Even though there were 17 years between the two, Super Troopers 1 and 2 really go hand in hand. A group of Vermont state troopers prank each other day in and day out to find enjoyment in their mundane job. The first Super Troopers introduced the infamous Farva and left us with an extremely quotable script. These movies are guaranteed to leave you belly laughing even if you’re not a stoner. If you are, then you will Super Troopers is relatable to anyone who has goofed off or played pranks on coworkers to pass the time.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was introduced into this world as a book written by infamous Hunter S. Thompson. Starring Benicio Del Toro and Johnny Depp, this movie is a whole experience. A journalist and his lawyer travel across the Mojave Dessert with a suitcase full of drugs in an effort to experience the true “American dream”. While this movie exhibits the use of drugs other than cannabis, stoners and anyone who has experienced Vegas will feel right at home watching this. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is here to remind us that getting stoned isn’t always the fun, laid back experience people are used to.
Where the Buffalo Roam (1980)
Also written by Hunter S. Thompson, Where the Buffalo Roam carries a mood similar to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This semi-biographical film follows journalist Hunter S. Thompson (Bill Murray) and his lawyer friend Karl Lazlo (Peter Boyle) through some of their absurd real life experiences. Whether it’s the Super Bowl being staged in a living room or a member of congress being interviewed at a urinal, Where the Buffalo Roam provides great insight into the drug-addled life of the gonzo-journalist. Hunter S. Thompson has made himself a legend. Stoners and like-minded individuals will find themselves relating to this one.

Our Favorite Actors
Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler is loved by everyone but especially by stoners. This fellow New England-er has been providing us with laughter for years. We couldn’t choose just one Adam Sandler movie we thought was stoner-approved, so we chose them all. Whether you take life too seriously or think everything is a joke, any movie with this beloved actor is sure to release some belly laughs. 90’s classics like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy are where we recommend you get started. Pack the bong and get to laughing!
Our Favorite Directors
Guy Ritchie
We chose director Guy Ritchie because his movies are cinematic masterpieces! You don’t have to be a stoner to relate to any of his movies but being stoned will make you appreciate them that much more! My favorites are the Sherlock Holmes movies (2009 & 2011). Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law play their roles as Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson perfectly. The humor is delightful and the cinematography will keep you pulled right in. Snatch (2000) is his greatest movie yet featuring faces like Jason Statham and Brad Pitt. A group of boxers and gangsters pretend to be Jewish jewelers in attempt to recover a stolen diamond. This movie is a great choice for a night in with your dab rig. Guy Ritchie’s style and enthusiasm hold its weight throughout every movie, what’s your favorite one by him?
Quentin Tarantino
Right off the bat I’m sure you can understand why we chose Quentin Tarantino. If you’re like us, you love a good action movie. His movies are consistent and are always providing some comedic relief in between all the murder. His directing style is captivating and as stoners we really dig that! His films feature many popular actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and more. His most well-known movie is Pulp Fiction. A stoners delight, Pulp Fiction is a film that is said to have a soundtrack that “defined the 90’s” and always kept watchers wondering what was going to happen next. Django, Hateful Eight and Inglorious Bastards are just a few more masterpieces for those blood and gore fans!
